Keyword Stuffing

Keyword Stuffing

Or as I like to call it – Spamming, is quite an obvious black hat SEO technique. I really thought it had died out long ago, but whilst looking at a website the other day which claims to be fully optimised,  I was disappointed that to the web site owner, “fully optimised” meant spammed to death.

Keyword stuffing is the practice of repeating keywords over and over in a pages content in the hope that Google will read it as relevant content and return the same in search queries.  This is a false hope. In fact the repetition of keywords on a page  doesn’t help rankings at all. It has the opposite effect.

You should focus on filling your website with information – rich content and keep your keywords in context.  The Panda search filter is very adept in identifying poor content and over stuffed text.

Make sure your content is original and fresh. Make sure you use relevant images and always tag them so that they are included within the text.

You can no longer fool Search engines into ranking you highly. The content must be quality.
